One of the things I hear most frequently is comments about wearing or not wearing white after Labor day. I cringe when I hear people say that you shouldn’t because I think it’s a shame for so many beautiful wardrobe pieces to be relegated to the back closet just because of some meaningless style rule. Below is a collection of photos that I have used for style inspiration. Sans the last blogger at the bottom of the pictures, these women know how to do it right!
But how do we translate what we see into our own lives? My opinion is that the keys are weight and texture. Aside from lightweight cotton shorts, almost anything white can be transitioned into a Fall or even a Winter piece with the addition of weight and texture. As you can see in the photos below, each outfit has texture to either the white piece itself or to the fabric juxtaposing the white piece. The first photo even demonstrates how white pumps can be incorporated into a cool weather ensemble. The second photo from Urban Outfitters is a perfect example of how to get longevity out of a summer camisole. Underneath a chunky cardigan, it becomes Fall appropriate and uber chic. Again, think texture.
Lastly, what are the pieces I would avoid altogether? As I mentioned, I would pack away the white cotton shorts. I would also put aside the white sandals, large white earrings (and seriously, why are you wearing them anyway), white handbags and white jewelry in general. I guess if you needed a rule, put away the white accessories. Otherwise, go for it! It’s just style and it’s all your own.
Hey, thanks for stopping by! I hope you’re having a great weekend!

TODAY’S WHITE FEATHER
Man oh man, has God ever been working on the mess that is me lately! If you are a friend on Facebook, you may have noticed that on my personal page I’ve been following a Bible plan on my YouVersion app called Hard Questions. It’s 14 days long and I just completed day 10. If you have this app, please check out this plan and if you don’t have this app, it’s a great one to download for free. This particular plan is exploring how to find God’s will and then how to embrace it. For me, it’s been one of those things that you read or hear and immediately feel it was written for you at just that moment and no one else. If you’re wondering what God’s will is for your life or if you’re struggling with accepting the things that hurt within His will, I encourage you to check out this plan.
By the way, if you are a friend on Facebook, please remember to like my fan page for Grace and White Feathers to keep up with not only blog posts but the occasional outfit photos I post on Instagram. Thanks!!
